Chris Karkout obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Stockholm University in 2025, with specialised coursework in witness psychology, domestic violence, human rights and migration law. This has laid the foundation for a reassuring, empathetic and professional approach to clients.
Since 2023, Chris has been part of Advokatfirman Avans, where she has assisted with complex cases involving criminal law, family law, migration law and cases under the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU).
Through her voluntary work with organizations such as Terrafem, Varken Hora eller Kuvad, Stockholms Tjejjour, and other women's shelters and organizations supporting vulnerable individuals, Chris has also gained valuable experience in handling cases involving domestic violence, sexual violence, and honour-related issues. In these roles, she has provided legal advice to individuals in particularly vulnerable circumstances.
She primarily takes on criminal law assignments as counsel for injured parties and special representatives for children, as well as serving as legal counsel in matters concerning family law, migration law, and compulsory care proceedings.
Chris has extensive experience handling complex cases involving criminal law, child custody disputes and asylum matters concerning domestic violence, honour-based abuse and sexual offences.
In addition to Swedish and English, Chris speaks fluent Arabic and is experienced in working with clients from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
