Chris Karkout obtained her Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Stockholm University in 2025, with advanced coursework in witness psychology, domestic violence, human rights, and migration law. Through these specialized courses, she has developed a deep understanding of the intersection between law and human vulnerability. Combined with practical experience, this foundation enables her to provide calm, empathetic, and professional counsel in complex and sensitive legal matters.
Since 2023, Chris has been part of the law firm Advokatfirman Avans, where she has assisted in complex cases within criminal law, migration law, and social welfare law. Her work has allowed her to cultivate sharp legal acumen and analytical skills.
In addition to her professional practice, Chris has gained valuable experience through her voluntary work with organizations such as Terrafem, Stockholm’s Girls’ Shelter (Stockholms tjejjour), and the Children’s Ombudsman (Barnombudet). In these roles, she has provided legal advice to individuals in particularly vulnerable situations, often in matters involving domestic violence, sexual violence, and honor-based oppression.
Chris primarily accepts assignments as counsel for injured parties (målsägandebiträde) in criminal cases, as well as legal representation in matters concerning family law, migration law, and social welfare law.
She is deeply committed to advocating for individuals in exposed and marginalized situations, with a particular focus on safeguarding their rights and needs throughout the legal process.
In addition to Swedish and English, Chris speaks fluent Arabic and is experienced in working with clients from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
